Michael Lohan Faces Another Arrest Warrant

He's no stranger to dealing with the legal system, and reports tell that Michael Lohan is once again a wanted man.

According to TMZ, the scandal-plagued father of Lindsay Lohan faces an arrest warrant issued on Thursday (November 4) by a judge in Suffolk County, NY.

The report goes on to tell that the warrant is related to a child support case in Montana, as a woman claiming to have had a child fathered by Lohan won an uncontested judgment after Michael failed to show up to oppose the allegations.

Questioned about the latest legal woes, Papa Lohan told TMZ that he suspects the warrant was issued after he was late with his second payment - a matter which he expects to be cleared up once the payment is processed by authorities.

Celebrate Wendy O. Williams' Birthday With Bobblehead Doll

What better way to celebrate Wendy O. Williams' 61st birthday on May 28 (if she hadn't blown her head off at age 48) than with a cute, scantily clad bobblehead doll.

Donald Glover Relives Awkward Prom Night On 'When I Was 17'

'Community' actor recalls father slipping him a condom in front of his date, on episode airing Saturday.
By Mawuse Ziegbe

When Donald Glover was a teen, his chances of scoring some post-prom action were destroyed before he even got to the party — by his own father.

On the latest episode of "When I Was 17," which also features stories from Akon and Kerry Washington and premieres at 11 a.m. Saturday on MTV, Glover recalls how his dad's safe-sex message ruined his son's chances for actually getting laid.

"I did go to my prom when I was 17. I asked this girl out that I really liked, and it was more like she was taking me, because I didn't have a car," Glover recalls. "She came and picked me up in her car. We're about to go, and my dad grabs me, and he pulls out a condom and puts it in my pocket — in front of her."

Brittany, a pal of the NBC show "Community" actor, also remembers that night. "Donald's dad was cool, but he never had the 'birds and the bees' kind-of talk," she recounts. "He flat out handed him the condom in front of Donald and his date. How embarrassing!"

Glover says the gesture was awkward for both him and his date.

"She saw it, and she wasn't mortified as much as ... [felt] like, 'Why did that happen in front of me? Isn't that supposed to not happen in front of me?' " Glover says.

By handing his son a prophylactic — a well-meaning, if presumptuous move — the elder Glover instantly killed any mood that might have led to use of the condom.

"We got in the car, and you might as well have had an elephant in the backseat 'cause it was like this big thing unspoken," Glover remembers. "Then I was like, 'We're not gonna...,' she's like, 'No, we're not.'

"I was like... 'Why do I even have this?' "

"When I Was 17" — this week featuring Akon, Kerry Washington and Donald Glover — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV.

After eight months at Rikers Island prison, Lil Wayne has left New York. After quietly celebrating Wayne's release on Thursday, the Cash Money/ Young Money family packed up their bags and departed on Friday morning (November 5).

(For photos of Lil Wayne after his release from prison, click here.)

MTV News spotted Young Money President Mack Maine and Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant, at New York's LaGuardia airport on Friday, getting ready to board a flight.

"504 ya boy will b there in 3hrs!!! Luv," Maine tweeted shortly after 1 p.m. ET, suggesting that members of Wayne's camp were heading to his hometown of New Orleans.

Still, it's not clear what Wayne's weekend itinerary will be. On Friday afternoon, a source in Yuma, Arizona, said Weezy was being transported to his scheduled court appearance. Wayne was scheduled to make an appearance to sign some paperwork for his plea deal in a drug case stemming from a January 2008 arrest.

Wayne may also make a stop in Las Vegas, where he may appear onstage for Drake's tour closer on Saturday, before heading to Miami for a big bash at the King of Diamonds strip club on Sunday.

When asked if part of that celebration will include the rumored drop-in by Wayne at Drake's last tour stop in Las Vegas on Saturday, Maine played it close, saying, "I don't know. If he goes, it's a surprise. If he doesn't, then we're going to see everyone in Miami."

Jennifer Lopez Doesn't Want Idol Contestants to Sing Her Songs

Jennifer Lopez Doesn't Want Idol Contestants to Sing Her Songs

Don't expect to hear too many renditions of "Jenny from the Block" or "Waiting for Tonight" during the upcoming season of American Idol. At least, not from the contestants!

People reports that new Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has a word of warning for hopefuls during the audition process: Don't sing my songs! Lopez, 41, talked to reporters in Los Angeles about contestants who took a swing at her tunes during try-outs. "It was cute, super entertaining and flattering, but no," she said.

But J.Lo doesn't want to be too harsh. "(The contestants) know we're not out to cut them down or make a joke of them," she said. "We're trying to mentor them to the next step." The singer-actress also mentioned that she's even cried when she's had to say no to devastated singers.

It's not all sad news though, as the diva went on to say they've already found 15 to 20 "real superstars who could be recording artists for sure." In fact, we might have the next Carrie Underwood coming our way, as Lopez noted that she and fellow judges Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson have seen "a lot of great country (singers)" during auditions.

They'd just better not attempt a country cover of "Ain't It Funny"!

Do you think Jennifer Lopez will allow American Idol hopefuls to sing her songs? Chime in below!

Mary J. Blige Dishes On Her 'Crazy' Led Zeppelin Covers

'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'

You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.

In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.

But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.

"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."

Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.

"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

'127 Hours' Takes Viewers On A 'Ride,' James Franco Says

'You're really going through it with the character in a way that's not like a lot of other movies,' he tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Despite the reports of intense audience reactions to "127 Hours" — including fainting and nausea — star James Franco said the diverse range of emotions is part of a heightened movie-going experience due to director Danny Boyle's creative vision.

"127 Hours" is based on the harrowing true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston, who was pinned beneath a boulder in Utah and freed himself by amputating his own arm in 2003.

"This movie is great to watch with an audience," Franco said. "Because I think what Danny did, when I hear [him] talk about how [he] approached the movie, and what he was interested in was creating an experience," he said. "Aron wrote the book, and he documented everything that happened. You can read the book and understand to a certain extent what he went through, but movies are a different medium, and you can really deliver an experience in a different way."

With Boyle having focused the action in the film on a very specific part of Ralston's story — his time stuck in the canyon — Franco said the intensity is heightened. "When you watch this movie, it's like you're going on a ride and you're really going through it with the character in a way that's not like a lot of other movies," he said.

"It was an amazing challenge," Boyle said of the production. "I'd always wanted to make [this film]. I've always been fascinated by the idea of trapping someone. In a medium that's all about movement and change, constant vibration of images, I thought it would be wonderful to challenge that and see if we could make an action movie where the hero doesn't move."

Check out everything we've got on "127 Hours."

Them Crooked Vultures make their debut with a post-Lollapalooza set.
By James Montgomery

Officially, Lollapalooza ended Sunday night in Chicago's Grant Park, with dueling sets from the Killers and Jane's Addiction. Unofficially, it ended very early Monday morning, across town at venerable rock club the Metro, with a surprise show by Them Crooked Vultures.

To the unfamiliar, the Vultures might seem like an odd choice to close out Lolla weekend ... until you realize that they're made up of Foo Fighters frontman/ former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones. And their gig at the Metro was their world premiere.

According to some reports, the Vultures actually turned down Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell's request to replace the Beastie Boys as headliners at the festival, opting to debut in front of some 1,100 super-psyched fans at the Metro, rather than 75,000 in Grant Park (tickets for the gig were announced via Foo Fighter/ QOTSA fan clubs). Meaning that, in a lot of ways, this was the most sought-after ticket in town.

Taking the stage just after midnight, the Vultures — Grohl on drums (of course), Homme on guitar and vocals, Jones on bass and keys and frequent QOTSA contributor Alain Johannes on guitar — ripped through 12 songs in 80 minutes, all taken from their upcoming debut, which may or may not be called Never Deserved the Future, and may or may not be hitting stores on October 23 (early "promo" videos touting both those facts were revealed over the weekend to be hoaxes perpetrated by QOTSA fans).

The songs, with appropriately Homme-ian titles like "Scumbag Blues," "Mind Eraser (No Chaser)," "Caligulove" and "Interlude w/Ludes," sounded pretty much how you'd expect, given the band's pedigree. They rocked, hard — Chicago Tribune critic Greg Kot described them as "fresh, invigorating and just plain nasty" — delving off into psychedelic, reverb-filled excursions and exploring proggy territory, "both of the old-school Yes variety, and the more modern Tool flavor," according to the Chicago Sun-Times' Jim DeRogatis.

It's not known if Monday's Metro performance was a one-off event for the Vultures — there have been whispers of a full-blown tour, but a spokesperson for Homme had not responded to MTV News' request for comment at press time. Nor was it clear whether or not they'll have an album out in October.

Early Monday, a Crooked Vultures Twitter account, which had previously posted links to the band's official-looking Web site and the Metro's online ticketing site — posted a link to what appears to be the group's first bit of official merchandise: a Deserve the Future T-shirt. Cost: $30.

'Saw' Trap Builder Recalls The Most Gruesome (And Funniest) Traps

'They probably unloaded enough blood for 10 human bodies,' Jason Ehl tells MTV News of one especially bloody death.
By Kara Warner

A scene from "Saw 3D"

With a cool $24.2 million opening weekend, fans of the storied "Saw" franchise celebrated the final installment, "Saw 3D," by getting to theaters and making it the #1 movie at the box office. The final chapter topped "Saw VI," which earned a modest $14 million its opening weekend, but finished fifth overall in the franchise's opening records.

Given the fact that the seventh film is likely the last, MTV News sought out one of the unsung heroes of the "Saw" series — trap builder/ engineer extraordinaire Jason Ehl — to talk barrels of blood, reveal a few of his "greatest hits" and find out why three of the films' directors refer to him as a "mad scientist."

MTV: What was your filmography leading up to "Saw"?

Jason Ehl: It's funny, because the first year I did "Saw," I just came off of "Thomas the Tank Engine" and [TV's] "RoboCop." ... I came from family, sort of G-rated stuff, and then the very next day, you would be coming home and then having to clean all the blood off your clothes. It was a wacky mix of models and miniatures and all that kind of stuff ... [but there] was really nothing comparable to "Saw" before we started "Saw."

MTV: What intrigued you initially about the "Saw" films?

Ehl: I started on "Saw II," and there were two things I worked on: the puppets and the reverse bear trap. To be honest, I hadn't seen the first "Saw" movie. I just got a call from one of my regular clients about this kind of cool movie that's come to town and "Would you like to do a few things on it?" It was after that build that the intrigue started, because it was, with my engineering background, the best job you could ever expect. It's in the movie industry and you get to sort of make cool little machines. When I was a kid, I used to — do you remember Mouse Trap? I've never played a game of Mouse Trap, but I played with Mouse Trap ... so essentially, to me, "Saw" is like Mouse Trap.

MTV: How many calculations are involved in designing the traps and whether humans can survive them?

Ehl: On paper or on the books and stuff like that, all the traps kind of started like that. Like, if we refer to one of the movies that just came out, one of the more heavily engineered traps would be the very opening trap, and it started out as a single saw, and then based on the changes and story development, it turned into what you see on film. The reason why it was heavily engineered [was] to keep up with the schedule that had to be built when the change happened. You have to engineer on top of what already exists to make what we want to happen rather than just engineering on a flat paper starting from scratch. There's that, which I would say is the extreme case, and then there's when we're on sets, "Wouldn't it be great if this happened? And, by the way, it plays tomorrow morning." So paper and trying to calculate it doesn't fly, and it's a matter of going back to the shot at midnight and hoping something will make it happen.

MTV: What have been some of the most challenging or interesting traps to build?

Ehl: On the last one, we had some big ones, such as the rail car. The challenging part, a lot of the times, comes from a lot of the departments [working] independently, and then all their bits in the 11th hour have to come together and then hopefully work together. So that one was a bit of a challenge in the sense that I couldn't build everything in-house. We kept it there and then brought it to set and made it go. It was the matter of, this has to go to a trained yard and work with whatever is existing there. ... I would say the most challenging ones were when everyone and multiple departments have to come together and make it all happen in a short period of time.

MTV: Any other examples?

Ehl: Also in "Saw 3D," the throat-puncturing trap. That was me, prosthetics and the carpenters department. That one went through a lot of changes along the way. The only thing that you can count on, there will be a lot of changes, but the due date never changes. Everyone has to keep up with the due date and keep up with what everyone else is doing so that their thing locks into my thing, which works with someone else's thing. The most challenging thing to do — less from a mechanical point of view and more of a logistical point of view — when things are happening so quickly.

MTV: Are you ever surprised at what traps people come up with? Do you have a favorite?

Ehl: This last round, my favorite was probably that throat one, because it was an elegant setup. The mechanical bits were nice and simple, and it has a nice blend of some mechanical engineering, some electrical engineering. The other thing that I remember, back to traps and how pleasant they are and how hard they are, is just the time on set. The actor was great, took one for the team and would sit in the trap for hours and everyone was just pleasant and just moved along and got it done.

MTV: Are you surprised by how gruesome it gets, or are you so totally desensitized that the traps make you chuckle?

Ehl: [Laughs.] The triple saw trap at the beginning [of "Saw 3D"], the effects team had gone through three 5-gallon pails before we even got halfway through, and someone was like, "Do you know how much blood is in the human body?" We're at a few pints here and there. When you walked across the floor, everything was red and everyone's shoes. That's why I laugh, because all I remember is, our feet were sticking to the floor like you were in the oldest movie theater you have ever been in, and you stay too long and you're, like, glued to the floor.

MTV: So on that one, did you use more blood than is actually in the human body?

Ehl: Oh, yeah! Big time! On that one, that was for visual effects, and it was just crazy. They probably unloaded enough blood for 10 human bodies. One trap, the meat-scale one, one [actor] said he had to lay in his blood for a day, and he actually got glued to the floor. When we peeled him up, it peeled the paint off the floor. He was stuck there. [Laughs.] So that's how I see the "Saw" movies as far as scary. It's just stuff like that when you're on set and see an actor stuck to the floor.

MTV: How much do you pay attention to putting someone in a trap and having it work the way it's portrayed?

Ehl: The buildup of building the trap is a lot of that. I know [production designer] Tony [Ianni] would spend hours researching whether or not this would do what it's supposed to do. They would call in experts from whatever fields. Like when they were going to electrocute the person in the bathtub, they called in an electrical engineer and said, "Would this happen? And if it wouldn't, how would you recommend this should be?" Kind of so it would be realistic. Doctors, engineers, all that kind of stuff are referenced in. Just Internet galore, looking up references to industrial accidents and actual stats and things like on the blood amount to make things seem realistic. Like the one with the saw that we talked about was for sheer spectacle. The reality of that one was blown out of proportion.

MTV: What was the most painful or gruesome trap?

Ehl: The hair-pulling trap was pretty gruesome. When we're trying a fresh trap, I would go on the Internet and read what people like and would write. There was this thing with the best "Saw" traps ever, and the ones that people really chime in on are almost like the simplest ones, like the needle pit, which from a trap point of view is the simplest it gets. For the prop guys, there were thousands and thousands of needles that needed to be made, but really, it's the simplest concept. The trap where the lady put her arms in the glass closure and her wrist gets cut when she tries to get her wrists out. But the hair one, it was built simple. Just a whole bunch of spinning wheels and elements, and it was pretty gruesome.

Check out everything we've got on "Saw 3D."

Brandi Glanville to LeAnn Rimes: Let's Talk it Out

There's no love lost between Brandi Glanville and LeAnn Rimes.

The two have feuded over Eddie Cibrian ever since he cheated on the former with the latter. Will they finally get together and make peace?

Brandi Glanville seems to want to, saying she's "going to go and sit down and talk" to LeAnn in an interview on the daytime show The Talk.

Beautiful BrandiLeAnn Pic

Will Brandi Glanville and LeAnn Rimes bury the hatchet?

During her chat with Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini and Julie Chen, Glanville said she thought she had "a great marriage" to Eddie Cibrian.

"My marriage - in my head - was not in trouble," she said.

That's why she was caught off guard by him boning Rimes, and why it's been hard to adjust to her two boys living with Rimes and Cibrian.

"I'm used to having my kids all the time," Brandi said. "Now it's part-time. I don't have a nanny. I don't have help. When they're gone, I'm alone."

What's worse, she added, "all my friends are married."

So she is usually left nursing wine alone. She said what used to be "one to two" glasses "is now 3-4." Next thing you know, she's busted for DUI.

But Glanville insisted, "I don't think I have a drinking problem. I just think I had a problem the other night when I made a bad choice to drive."

Hopefully she can put her problems with LeAnn in the past. Rimes, for her parts, says she has no regrets about her affair with Eddie Cibrian.
