Sassy season 10 American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart has a new reason to growl. The smoky-voiced third-place finisher just inked a terrific record deal with 19 Entertainment/Interscope Records, a rep for the label has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly.
It's the same label that signed fellow season 10 alum Pia Toscano, and makes Reinhart the fourth season 10 contestant to land a recording deal. Toscano, winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina are the other three -- not a bad season for Idol, huh?
Reinhart, 20, weathered the criticism on American Idol and brought a sultry bluesy growl to the pop-dominated competition. Judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez praised her courageous and confident renditions of Alanis Morissette, Elton John and Adele tunes. However, the judges were often hard on Reinhart in terms of her song choice and stage presence, and the singer landed in the bottom three four times during the season.
But that's all a thing of the past now. With a record in the making, a built-in legion of fans eagerly awaiting its release, Haley's sultry singing voice and unapolagetic attitude might just make her an idol after all.
