Armie Hammer may be the focus of a new Details magazine profile, but it's his wife Elizabeth Chambers who steals the show with a story about laying into Leonardo DiCaprio.
When the 25-year-old breakout star of The Social Network joined DiCaprio on the set of Martin Scorsese's historical biopic J. Edgar, his stunning wife put Leo to the test. If he passed, she'd consider him a good guy. But if he failed, she would know he's a jerk. Talk about on-set hazing!
Was Chambers, an actress-turned-journalist, warning the Oscar-nominated actor about kissing her man? (DiCaprio plays the infamous FBI Director and Hammer plays Hoover's assistant director and lover.) Nope! Instead, she was calling him out about a decade-old tryst.
"I actually met Leo when I was modeling in Tokyo when I was in high school," says Chambers, 29. "He hooked up with my roommate. When I saw him on set after all those years, I said, 'Tell me you're not an a--hole. Do not make me hate you for the rest of the shoot.'"
Chambers went on to describe his fling with her beautiful friend. "She was Spanish -- you took a bath your first night together. What's her name?" she asked the actor. But his reply was right on the mark: "Marta."
The fact that Leo remembered was all the proof Chambers needed to know he isn't a heartless player. That sounds like good news for his latest girlfriend, Blake Lively!
